Visit To Leh Ladakh- Blend of Spirituality & Adventure

I have been an ardent follower of an adage which quotes that “If there’s a heaven on Earth it’s got to be nowhere but in Kashmir!!! ”.Leh and Ladakh located in Jammu and Kashmir have beauty and serenity which is unparalleled. Enshrined by a plethora of Buddhist monasteries, bounded by two of the world’s largest mountain ranges and surrounded by alpine deserts Leh Ladakh is an incredible sight to behold. The paucity of the nature’s brilliance can attract anyone towards itself and I am no exception to it. So my decision to visit Leh Ladakh was quite prompt and quickly accepted by my friends as well.

I booked rooms for us in The Hotel Grand Dragon in Leh which was both economical as well as comforting. It cannot happen that one visits Leh and does not involves in adventures as Mountain climbing and para gliding. I along with my friends had the best time of our lives while climbing the mountain peak Goleb in Leh. It was both exciting and enthralling to climb a height of 19, 356 feets. As we were in Leh we visited a number of other impressive places the first being Khardung-la top, also popularly known as K-Top. Standing at a height of 18380 feet, Khardung-la is the world’s highest motorable road. The second is the Nubra Valley, a cold desert where we spotted a lot of double humped camels. Last but not the least the Pangong-Tso (Pangong Lake), one of the largest brackish lakes in Asia. Situated at a height of 14000 feet, the lake is 130km long, 45 km of which lies in India while the remaining stays in China. The Lake’s beauty cannot be described in words as we were spell bound at the spectacular beauty of the lake.
However before reaching pangong we asked ourselves in the glory of reaching The Chang la Pass, world’s third highest pass.

We returned to our hotel after the day one of our adventurous visit and retired ourselves in our rooms to grab some comfort for the next day. Visiting Buddhist Monasteries was the next part of our plan. Next Morning we were both excited and enthusiastic to visit the Monasteries, of which we had only heard of and we were soon going to witness there paucity. We visited the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries viz the Shey Monastery and the Hemis Monastery and were told of their historical and cultural importance by our guide.

All entire Leh Ladakh tour was mesmerizing and worth cherishing. It was a blend of spiritual and adventurous exposures which left us wanting for more. If time allows I would definetly love to visit Leh Ladakh again?
